The National Skill Development Corporation, (NSDC) is a one of its kind, Public Private Partnership in India, under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. It aims to promote skill development by catalyzing creation of large, quality, for-profit vocational institutions.
NSDC provides funding to build scalable, for-profit vocational training initiatives. Its mandate is also to enable support systems such as quality assurance, information systems and train the trainer academies either directly or through partnerships. NSDC acts as a catalyst in skill development by providing funding to enterprises, companies and organisations that provide skill training. It will also develop appropriate models to enhance, support and coordinate private sector initiatives. The differentiated focus for the 21 sectors under NSDC’s purview and its understanding of their viability will make every sector attractive to private investment.
Aligned to NSDC’s mandate, MER PEDAGOGY aims to contribute significantly to the equitable skills development target of the country and mobilize large number of Indian youth to take up skill training and become employable (including self-employment) and earn their livelihood..

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The objective of this Skill Certification Scheme is to enable a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood. Individuals with prior learning experience or skills will also be assessed and certified under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
The programme is approved to run for a period of four years (2016 - 2020) and has been allocated a budget of Rs 12,000 crores. There are are 32 Sector Skill Councils and 416 Job Roles under PMKVY thus far.
Kaushal Mela was conducted by Mer Pedagogy on 28th May 2017 at Sri Ramanujar Engineering College, Kolapakkam this event was graced by dignitaries like Smt. Maragatham Kumaravel, Member of Parliament – Kancheepuram and Mr.Dhanasekar, HR – Head, Gestamp Automotive
Over 600 job aspirants participated in this Job Mela and 35 companies which Includes Yamaha Motors, Gestamp Automotive, HDFC Sales, Apollo Hospital Enterprises, Equitas, Kotak Bank, Hinduja Global Solutions, Just Dial, Panasonic , ICICI, Diamond Group to Name a few. More than 100 candidates have been placed in various companies.
